Students will take the PSAT 8/9 in April. This assessment assists in planning your high school courses, preparing for the SAT or choosing a career direction.
Sophomore Year
Students will take the PSAT 10 in the Spring. This test helps build a solid foundation for future academic and career success and provides information needed to address school district's high-priority issues. It is a comprehensive guidance resource that helps students measure their current academic development, explore career/training options, and make plans for the remaining years of high school and post-graduation years.
Junior Year
Students will take the PSAT on National Test Day in October. The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) is a program cosponsored by the College Board and National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC). It's a standardized test that provides firsthand practice for the SAT®. It also gives you a chance to enter NMSC scholarship programs and gain access to college and career planning tools. The PSAT/NMSQT measures critical reading skills, math problem-solving skills, writing skills.
In April each year, juniors will take the MME. The MME (Michigan Merit Examination) includes three components: the SAT, the WorkKeys, and the M-STEP.
AP Testing
Each year, in May, students enrolled in AP courses at Nouvel have the opportunity to take the AP exam where they can qualify for college credit. Current AP courses offered: AP Language, AP English Literature, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Physics C, AP Calculus AB and BC, AP US History, AP Macroeconomics, AP Microeconomics, and AP Government.
Students also have the opportunity to take additional AP courses not offered at the high school via Michigan Virtual High School (MIVHS). MIVHS AP course offerings include: AP Art History, AP Chinese, AP Computer Science, AP Computer Science Principles, AP Environmental Science, AP French, AP Human Geography, AP Psychology, AP Spanish, AP Statistics, and AP World History.
SAT Testing
SAT test results are accepted by all four-year colleges and universities in the U.S. The SAT is a national college admissions examination. Elements of the test have been revised and the New SAT began to be administrated during the Spring of 2016.

ACT Testing
ACT results are accepted by all four-year colleges and universities in the U.S. The ACT is a national college admissions examination that consists of subject area tests in: English, Mathematics, Reading, Science. The ACT Plus Writing includes the four subject area tests plus a 30-minute Writing Test. To Sign up for the ACT Test:
To send scores from a past test date to colleges, you'll need to log in on the ACT Website and click on Send My Scores. You can have your ACT scores sent to other colleges and scholarship agencies after you test in addition to the ones you selected when you registered or tested. Requests are processed AFTER your tests have been scored and all scores for your test option—ACT (No Writing) or ACT Plus Writing—are ready. There is a fee for this service.
