Band and Choir are full-year academic courses at Nouvel Catholic Central. Performances for both groups are held throughout the year. Additionally, the band marches at Homecoming and for a select number of football games during the season.
Students interested in all phases of a theater production are encouraged to join. Members work on publicity, programs, set building, costumes, make-up, decorating and acting. In addition to performing on campus, students compete against other schools. Students put on two productions every year; a Fall Play and a Spring Musical. Acting is only one part of the show — it takes a team to make the production a success!

Mock Trial
Students learn about our legal system first-hand. A team of student attorneys, witnesses and jurors prepare their side of a case and compete against other local schools at the Saginaw County Courthouse.

The National Honor Society (NHS) is founded upon the four pillars of Scholarship, Leadership, Service and Character. Each February, students 10th grade and higher, who have at least a GPA of 3.5 are invited to apply for membership in the Rose Watson Chapter of NHS. Students create and organize monthly service projects for the student body. Consideration is given to eligible students based on service, school involvement, a written essay and recommendations. Induction is held each year in April. Outstanding scholarship, service, leadership and character must be maintained to remain in NCCHS.

PAWS
Peer Alliance for Wellness Support (PAWS) strives to enhance mental health awareness and improve the overall well-being of the school community. Students have the opportunity to work collaboratively with peers, creating and/or participating in activities supporting mental health on campus and in the community.

An additional opportunity for hands-on learning through experiments, while exploring biology, chemistry and anatomy. This provides longer sessions of Science learning, outside of the classroom.
An academic club where students compete with other schools in 23 science based events. The emphasis is on problem solving and hands-on, minds-on learning practices. Some events require practical skills of building and perfecting designs.

All students at NCCHS are invited to assist in creating a campus of good spirit. Students work to create a lively student section at games and activities, themes for events and decorate the school in signs. Spirit Club members are known for having a smile on their face and a whole lot of energy.

STEM Ambassadors
Students can become STEM Ambassadors through the Regional Chief Science Officer (CSO) program. Students are liaisons for STEM at Nouvel and in the community, learning more about networking, leadership development, communication and team building. Additionally, there are mentorship opportunities with STEM professionals who help CSO's implement their ideas on campus and express their voice in the community. Students work with business and civic leaders to address community challenges, improving communication and confidence, while sharing common experiences.

Represent the voice of the Nouvel student body, plan events throughout the school year and provide assistance for on-campus events (i.e. Homecoming Week, dances, assemblies and new student events). Six students per grade are elected to serve each year.Members of Nouvel Student Government represent the collective voice of the student body. Student government members work closely with administration to advance the mission of the school.

Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) at Nouvel is a small sector of a larger national organization. Students initiate opportunities dedicated to the safety and wellness of all students. Past events include: Prom Promise, Suicide Prevention, Anti-texting and driving presenttion, and more. Members of this organization are involved in a variety of awareness campaigns including drinking while driving prevention, suicide prevention, prom promise, anti-texting and driving presentation and more. Members of SADD have also hosted an open forum at the Dow Event Center for neighboring schools and community groups to share ideas and initiatives.

Dedicated to the defense and prevention of human life, this group's goal is to work together with other pro-life organizations to bring an end to euthanasia, embryonic stem cell research and abortion. This group fights for the rights of the unborn and vulnerable. Some past activities include praying at an abortion clinic, vigil service on the anniversary of Roe v. Wade and periodic pro-life demostrations. Students for Life is a national organization that educates students about the issues of abortion, euthanasia and infanticide. Our mission: We are committed to proclaiming the sanctity of life, by our actions and by our words. As Students for Life, this is our duty, our desire, and our command. We are Students for Life, commanded by Christ to defend life wherever and however it is threatened. In Christ’s name, we are the voice of the voiceless.

Students who enjoy Jeopardy-like competition and are knowledgeable on various subjects are encouraged to be part of our team! Quiz Bowl members compete in several local tournaments throughout the year. During Catholic Schools Week, students have the opportunity to compete against other Catholic schools in a one day Catholic Quiz Bowl event. Members of the Nouvel Quiz Bowl team represent Nouvel Catholic Central in competitions throughout the state. In April of 2009, the team finished state runners-up in their division.
