Welcome! As a new family, it can be overwhelming to start a new school and know where to go for information or who to ask.  We hope this page is a quick reference to the items you need as you start your journey at Nouvel.  There is useful information, including links to other parts of our website, suggestions of ways to get connected, answers to common questions and some Nouvel terminology. 

And don't forget that we are all here to help!

• Purchase uniforms for your student(s), if they are in young 5's through 6th grade. There is a page on the website that details the dress code and has pictures. See NCCE Dress Code. Don't forget that we have a swap shop at school. What's the swap shop?  It's a uniform closet of gently used uniforms that families can donate to and take from, as needed.

• Purchase school supplies for your student(s). See the school supply lists on the side of this page. Some items like the artbox are used multiple years in some grades and the paint shirt for art class.  What's the paint shirt?  It's just a shirt to help keep the uniform clean!  It can be a larger tshirt, an older button down shirt or smock that kids can easily get on and off over their uniform.

• Follow us on Facebook.  It's a great way to keep up with the school, see what's happening in your child's classes and on campus throughout the year. We have specific events tailored to welcome our new families and other events for all Nouvel families. Below are a few that you might want to add to your family's calendar:

• Popsicles at the Panther Playground is a fun time for our preschool through kindergarten families.  All students (new and current) in these classrooms are invited to attend as a way to help prepare our littlest Panthers for the upcoming school year. The dates are July 30th & August 1st. 
• The New Student Ice Cream Social on August 7th is specifically for our new preschoolers through 6th graders. It is a casual evening event to help get our new Panthers get excited about school and possibly meet some other friends. We also have other parents, school parent groups and the admissions team will be there to answer any last minute questions as the start of the school year approaches.
• The Elementary hosts an event for all families the week before school as an opportunity to visit the school and meet our teachers. This year will be on Thursday, August 15th from 4-6 pm.
• The first day of school is Tuesday, August 20th and is always a early dismissal day. That evening, Nouvel hosts a parent meeting to share information about the upcoming school year and give everyone a chance to see their student(s) classroom and meet teachers. 

• Announcements are emailed twice a week (Monday and Thursday) from our school office professional, Mrs. Jenny Sprague.  You will see events, forms, volunteer opportunities, lunch menus and reminders.  Check your spam folder at the beginning of the year to make sure the announcements aren't going there.

• Check Skyward for other news, update any contact information that may have changed and view information about your child. You can access Nouvel's Skyward Page at www.NouvelCatholic.org/Skyward. You can also setup notifications in your account so that you receive grading alerts by email.

• Our Home and School Association (HSA) sends home a form asking for volunteers to help with various committees and activities during the school year.  Consider volunteering for at least one thing as it's a great way to connect with others. What is HSA?  It is our parent/teacher organization that supports a variety of activities and programs at the school. • Each classroom will have a designated Homeroom Parent who volunteers to be a group communicator between parents and your child(s)'s teacher.  Save their information!  They are typically parents that have been at the school for a while and are very willing to answer all kinds of questions.
