Nouvel Alum Making an Impact
Michael Bujold graduated from Nouvel in 2005. After his High School graduation, he attended The University of Michigan where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 2008 and then Juris Doctor from The University of Michigan Law School in 2010. Since then, Michael has traveled across the United States, gaining experience and doing remarkable things.
Michael works as a Trial Attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington DC. Recently he received the Attorney General's Award for Distinguished Service for his outstanding contributions to the Department of Justice. His work has been featured in several publications and he has participated in several speaking engagements.
The word Michael used to represent his experience at Nouvel was "VALUES". "I selected the word values because I believe that my experiences at Nouvel instilled values that I carry to this day and forward. These values, particularly love for oneself and others, have kept me balanced and fulfilled. Living these values means not only meeting the high expectations that I set for myself, but ensuring that I am there for my family, friends and colleagues. Love for others also means respecting and embracing those with backgrounds different than my own. We are all richer when we treat others well and maintain our personal integrity while doing so. I am pleased that I can share these Nouvel values with the world."
From NCCHS Marching Band to Nashville Band Collaborations
Ben Schuller is a Nouvel Class of 2009 graduate. In his time at Nouvel, Ben led the marching band as drum major, sang in the chamber choir and acted in the theater program. He attended Central Michigan University on the Centralis scholarship, studying entrepreneurship and music.
Ben now lives in Nashville as a recording artist and music producer. As a solo artist and with his band Nerdout, he's performed on four continents and his songs have been streamed more than 500 times worldwide. His most recent projects include a music video collaboration with English soccer team, Manchester United, and singing in the house band on the USA Network show "Real Country."
The word that Ben uses to describe his Nouvel experience is "INSPIRING". He shared, "Being surrounded by supportive and encouraging teachers, as well as fellow classmates who are constantly achieving great things, Nouvel really provides an environment that inspires you to chase your dreams. The Nouvel community is a family that I will forever be grateful to be part of."

From Miss Basketball to Saginaw Sports Hall of Fame
Danielle (Kamm) Carter is a Nouvel Class of 2003 graduate and former Miss Basketball 2002. During her four seasons at Nouvel, Danielle led her basketball team to winning four district titles and three regional championships. She also played volleyball and softball, earning all-area honors four times for softball and twice for volleyball. It is because of these efforts that she will be inducted into the Saginaw County Sports Hall of Fame in November 2018.
After Nouvel, Danielle went on to play basketball for Marquette University in Milwaukee. She is now the director of financial aid at Columbia College of Nursing in Milwaukee, where she lives with her husband Jesse and their two dogs.
Danielle describes her experience at Nouvel as "ENRICHING". Danielle shared, "Nouvel provides a significant opportunity for growth and learning on a holistic level that leads towards a lifetime of success. The opportunities to grow and learn from caring and authentic teachers, coaches, staff, parents and community, at such an influential age, has had such a significant impact on my life. I am forever grateful, from the first day I stepped foot on campus, for all the people who took me under their wing and supported me."
Nouvel Alum Giving Back in Saginaw
In September, Saginaw County high school students had the opportunity to receive a free heart check, thanks in part to one of our alums, Dr. Jay Mohan. Jay is a Nouvel Catholic Central class of 2005 graduate. He is a board certified Internal Medicine physician and associate clinical faculty at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is currently in the last year of his General Cardiology training and the current Chief Cardiology fellow at McLaren Macomb and Oakland hospitals. He is excited to start his interventional/structural heart fellowship at William Beaumont in Royal Oak in 2019.
Jay uses the word "REWARDING" to summarize his experience at Nouvel. "Nouvel provided me the foundation to be successful as well as helped me meet influential people along the way," said Jay.
He is happily married to his wife, Avni, and is a recent father to Jax. His hobbies include Golf and Tennis (he was four year varsity for both at NCCHS), all Michigan Wolverine sports, as well as charity and education. His long term goals are to help the younger generation see the value in advanced education and help those less fortunate than ourselves. Additionally, he's been very involved in charitable work, being the Vice President of the Dr. Ramesh Kumar Foundation, which is dedicated to eliminating financial barriers to individuals that cannot afford medical care.
